press release from Abcmedianet.
THE FIRM TAKES ON TWO GROUPS OF PARENTS -- ONE CHRISTIAN, THE OTHER WICCAN -- WHO WANT THEIR CHILDREN'S SCHOOL TO DO AWAY WITH THEIR HALLOWEEN PAGEANT; AND DENNY CRANE AND ALAN SHORE'S FRIENDSHIP IS THREATENED WHEN SHORE SUES THE U.S. GOVERNMENT OVER THE WRONGFUL DEATH OF A SOLDIER KILLED IN IRAQ, ON ABC'S "BOSTON LEGAL"
"Witches of Mass Destruction" - Shirley Schmidt and Denise Bauer represent two groups of parents, one Christian and the other Wiccan -- a pagan religion -- who are suing to get rid of a school's Halloween pageant for its wicked witch. The Christians feel their faith is being marginalized by a satanic symbol, and the Wiccans claim that Halloween images stereotype them - especially after the school's principal gives a riveting demonstration of her cackling, green witch. Meanwhile, Garrett Wells takes Cassie (Tamara Feldman), the paralegal with whom he's involved, to see Alan Shore and ask him to represent her in suing the U.S. government, to vindicate the death of her brother, killed in the Iraq war. Shore takes on the unconventional case, but his friendship with Denny Crane is threatened since Crane strongly feels that one shouldn't criticize the military while the country is at war. The strained friendship threatens the annual office Halloween party, where they both were to dress up as giant flamingoes, on "Boston Legal," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (10:00 -11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Boston Legal" stars James Spader as Alan Shore, Julie Bowen as Denise Bauer, Mark Valley as Brad Chase, Rene Auberjonois as Paul Lewiston, Justin Mentell as Garrett Wells and Ryan Michelle Bathe as Sara Holt, with Candice Bergen as Shirley Schmidt and William Shatner as Denny Crane.
Guest starring are Marietta De Prima as Grace Mathias, Matt Champagne as Bob Mathias, Johnny Sneed as Sam Sawtelle, Stephanie Venditto as Evelyn Sawtelle, Tamara Feldman as Cassie, Henry Gibson as Judge Clark Brown, Zach Grenier as U.S. Attorney Chris Randolph, Michael Ensign as Judge Paul Resnick, Andy Umberger as Attorney Morrison, Jayne Taini as Principal Maxine Berleth, Derrex Brady as Corporal Brian Webb and David Lee Russek as Sergeant Jason Hendler.

We may need to start a new thread for this topic.
During the trip to Canada, Alan tells Denny that the lice which attach themselves to the salmon are called cling-ons [Klingons]. Tonight, while dressed in their costumes he told Denny that he looked "Pretty in Pink".
Call me crazy, but I'm seeing a pattern here, ladies.

I've seen the episode twice now. I enjoyed it. Denise is good but sure is getting tons of airtime. Sara didn't get much, nor did Brad. Garrett was good. JS and Denny were fantastic as always. I loved the way Denny was sour but reluctently and unadmittedly returned to the friendship in the end. The goofy costumes seem to be now a BL tradition. They had flamingos this week, a clown next week (though it doesn't look like comedy). I wonder if we'll get santas or elves this year.

I saw the ep 1x and the "pretty in pink" line didn't register, but noe that it's been mentioned Iagree that there may be a pattern emerging. BUt I think I would've noticed the line more if DC had said it to AS. AS mentioned "klingons" to DC last time. DC should've made the "pretty in pink" remark to AS and I think it would've been funnier coming from DC.
iI did mention in a previous post that there should be little hints like this referencing JS' and WS' acting history. (For EX As gets caught with a bunch of ladies of tape--this would make a reference to SL&V) I hope DEKcontinues this, it's cute and funny

This episode was outstanding, the way it managed to be both dead serious and silly funny at the same time (what's with AS's smoking briefcase ) ..it was both a showcase for DEK's writing and the acting of all envolved..for the first time the young lawyer Garrett captured my attention. Though i feel Dana's pain it that DEK is not using Brad Chase more..i liked his brief exchange with AS...i guess something in his eyes kept AS's smart mouth shut, i hope we get to see more interaction between these two PLEASE DEK AS and BC could have some wonderful exchanges...sort of the reverse of AS and DC PLEASE!!
I thought SS's closing was genious...until i heard Alan's, ..it was beautifully delivered in terms of the sincerity and passion ...and compassion that James Spader put into it (Mossaenda stands up and gives him a standing ovation..and a wolf whistle for his cute legs ay papi!! )
ITA that is a plus to keep bringing up references to both JS's and WS's prior work...like a i've said before it is so easily recognizable that the references just add to the fun. Anna's idea is wonderful...and i definitely want to see JS's past costars...like Andie McDowell trying to retrieve certain tapes from a former husband bring Molly Ringwald and Eric Stoltz...and who wouldn't want to see a cameo by Maggie Gyllenhall...she might come and interview for a job as AS's secretary
I wanted to point out that during the trial AS alluded to the 2000 casualties of war and SS and Mr Aberjuju came to the party dressed as Charles and Camilla...obviously they've reshoot some scenes to make this episodes more current...
Speaking of costumes they were all hilarious...did you notice how in the balcony scene had their legs positioned like flamingos? ...even bobbing their heads..too funny!! And next week there are clowns...apprently AS is scared of them? we'll see
To end this long, long posting...what was DC's answer to AS when he told him he looked pretty in pink? DC mumbled something i can't understand
